Invest Turks and Caicos Islands (Invest TCI) hosted its fifth Annual General Meeting on September 15 at The Ritz-Carlton to address how economic growth can better serve the local workforce. The agency emphasized that future development must prioritize meaningful opportunities for residents, rather than focusing solely on capital influx.
Invest TCI Chief Executive Officer Angela Musgrove announced an active investment pipeline of 53 projects valued at approximately 6.335 billion dollars. The agency received a record 140 applications to its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise programme during the 2025/26 financial year. Premier Charles Washington Misick and Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam urged leaders to ensure investor confidence translates into sustainable benefits like skills development. The agency has also finalized two Development Agreements under the Heritage Turks and Caicos Islander Investment Policy.
Moving forward, the agency intends to deepen the connection between economic development and long-term career progression for locals. A panel discussion involving representatives from government, tourism, education, and energy explored strategies to prepare the local workforce for specialized jobs. Chairperson Cindy Ewing noted that the value of investment lies in what is built within the people of the Islands, and the agency will continue its focus on attracting and facilitating investment that aligns with these broader goals.
