Young people, community leaders, and advocates gathered at a Youth Tribunal held in September 2026 in the Turks and Caicos Islands to debate the preservation of national identity. Participants explored how to protect local traditions and history while preparing the next generation to lead the country effectively.
The session addressed concerns that aspects of the Islands' culture are fading. Attendees emphasized the need for deliberate preservation efforts, arguing that youth must play a more active role in safeguarding their heritage. The discussion highlighted the tension between the Islands' ongoing rapid development and maintaining a unique cultural identity.
