A specialized team of Royal Engineers arrived in the Turks and Caicos Islands this September to provide expert infrastructure planning for the country’s defense and security framework. Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam hosted the 66 Works Group on September 21, 2026, to initiate a strategic review of national security requirements.
The visiting engineers are consulting with local agencies to assess operational needs and infrastructure improvements for the TCI Regiment. This collaboration is designed to enhance coordination between security bodies and align long-term facilities with the evolving security needs of the islands. The team's assessments will directly inform the development of a forthcoming National Security Estate Strategy.
