The Turks and Caicos Islands Government is advancing five major development projects valued at approximately $1.18 billion, aiming to boost national investment while ensuring economic benefits remain within the territory. This update was delivered by Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam during the September 8, 2026, Speech from the Throne in Parliament.
These projects—Royal Reef in North Caicos, Dellis Cay, Janu, Corinthia, and Grace Retail and Residences—are managed via Invest Turks and Caicos. Beyond these, 16 projects worth $2.57 billion are currently under construction, including the $89.3 million Salterra resort expansion on South Caicos. In Grand Turk, the government is negotiating a $177.3 million cruise and landside development, aiming to expand the cargo pier and add hotel accommodations to ensure the capital is not merely a brief stop for cruise passengers.
The government is shifting toward a more selective approval process, noting that growth must create local jobs and training opportunities to provide lasting value. Consequently, a temporary pause has been placed on certain developments in Providenciales to manage infrastructure pressure. Moving forward, authorities will prioritize sustainable, appropriately scaled projects in Grand Turk, South Caicos, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, and Salt Cay, while increasing support for local businesses and heritage investors.
