RBC identifies Turks and Caicos Islands as key Caribbean growth market

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) told clients in Providenciales that the Turks and Caicos Islands is a growth market for its Caribbean operations, at a "Celebrating You" event at The Palms Turks & Caicos on September 10, 2026.

Chris Duggan, chief executive of Caribbean Banking at RBC, said tourism, real estate, construction and growing international interest are driving the bank's confidence in the territory. The event was hosted by Phillisia Armbrister, country manager and area vice president of Personal & Commercial Banking for the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Ericka Rolle, managing director and vice president of Personal Banking for The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. Duggan acknowledged that RBC fell short of customers' expectations in the territory the year before, saying: "There were times when we did not meet the standard you expect of us."

Duggan said RBC's ambition is to grow alongside the market, supporting clients with advice, capabilities and solutions, and called partnership central to its strategy — "not a tagline, but a commitment". He singled out Armbrister for her leadership and thanked the TCI team.
