In a landmark corruption case, Justice Rajendra Narine has convicted former Premier Michael Misick, McAllister Hanchell, and Thomas Chalmers Misick of corruption charges, citing $14.2 million in corrupt payments. The court found that Misick received over $2.6 million in corrupt payments while serving as chief minister and premier between 2005 and 2008. The defendants are expected to appeal the judgment, with sentencing set for May 4, 2026.

Meanwhile, the government is taking steps to address corruption and improve transparency. A new coastal and beach rights bill is being drafted to provide a clear legal right for the public to access beaches and coastal areas. The magazine highlights luxury tourism and island hospitality, now in circulation, offering a unique perspective on the islands.

As the community looks to the future, the TCI Top Model committee has announced a new direction, removing height and size restrictions, and opening the platform to talent of every shape and background. The search begins on January 31, 2026, in Providenciales, with subsequent events in Grand Turk and North Caicos, and the grand finale is set for May 2, 2026.
